We are delighted to have received numerous submissions for the digital 38th Symposium of the Division of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of the DGPs in the last weeks and would like to remind you that abstract submission is open until the end of this week.
In case you have already been registered for the 2020 congress, please note that submissions from 2020 can only be considered for 2021 if you have officially resubmitted the contribution according to our instructions.
You can register on our website until May 12, 2021.
We are looking forward to your contributions.
Kind regards from Mannheim,
We are pleased to inform you that the 38th symposium of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of the DGPs is now open for abstract submission from today until 28/02/21!
If you were already registered in 2020, you will have the opportunity to resubmit your contribution from last year for this year's conference or even submit a completely new one. Due to the postponement, there have been some important changes in the paper submission process for all previously registered participants. Please read the information on how to submit a contribution carefully.
We thank those who have maintained their 2020 registration and are equally excited to receive new registrations! You can register on our website until May 12, 2021.
We are looking forward to your contributions and participations.
Best regards from Mannheim,
Georg W. Alpers and the congress team
2020 is coming to an end without us experiencing one of our regular highlights - the annual symposium of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. As you know, earlier this year we, unfortunately, had to postpone the conference until 2021 (12/5 - 15/5/2021).
After closely observing the development of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic over the past months, we had to decide, in consultation with the department and the professors of clinical psychology, to hold the 38th symposium of the department of clinical psychology and psychotherapy of the DGPs 2021 as an online conference.
Due to the current situation and the forecasts for next year, it is, unfortunately, no longer conceivable to hold an in-person conference. With this decision, we would like to give back a sense of security for the next year, both for you and for us.
In the meantime, we are again devoting all our energy and anticipation to planning the congress. We are currently working on finalizing the framework for the digitalization of the conference. In doing so, we are trying our best to translate the central aspects of the symposium into a virtual format - from the various opportunities for scientific exchange, to all our social events.
Further information regarding the registration and submisson of contributions will soon be published on our Homepage.
Even though we will not be able to welcome you to Mannheim Castle in 2021, we would like to take this development as an opportunity to explore innovative digital possibilities to promote scientific and personal exchange.
Once again, we would like to thank you for your patience and support over the past months.
Stay healthy and see you soon.
Georg W. Alpers and the congress team
the time has come - we are very pleased to present to you the digital volume of abstracts
Despite the postponement of the congress due to the Corona crisis, we would like to offer you the opportunity to inform yourself, and exchange ideas regarding your planned contributions in this digital form.
We thank you very much for your support and outstanding scientific contributions.
Best regards and stay healthy,
G. W. Alpers and the Congress Team
On the occasion of the originally planned start to the 38th Symposium of the Division of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of the DGPs, here is a small greeting from our congress team.
Despite the corona-related postponement, we are in good spirits and happily continue to plan a nice congress with a lively scientific exchange in 2021.
We hope you are all healthy and looking forward to next year, just like us.
Best regards from
Over the past months we have been working very hard to bring to you a truly special conference. We are delighted to have received 566 registrations and your outstanding scientific contributions consisting of 75 symposia and 225 posters. And yet, we are sadly not able to hold the event as planned.
In its current, updated decree concerning the COVID-19 situation (Verordnung der Landesregierung über infektionsschützende Maßnahmen gegen die Ausbreitung des Virus SARS-Cov-2 (Corona-Verordnung – CoronaVO)) from 28th March 2020, which will be in force till 15th June 2020, the state government of Baden-Württemberg has imposed a ban on all events involving more than five individuals. Following consultation with Prof. Silvia Schneider of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) and with our vice-chancellor Prof. Thomas Puhl at the University of Mannheim, we regret to inform you that the original conference date scheduled for May 2020 has had to be cancelled.
The DGPs commission has offered the possibility for us to postpone the 38th Symposium to 2021 (around Ascension) instead. We are happy to accept this offer, as Prof. Tania Lincoln and her Hamburg team who had originally planned to host a workshop congress at that time have agreed to this.
The 38th Symposium of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of the DGPs will now take place from 12th May to 15th May 2021.
We will be in touch with you soon with more information on 2021. In the meantime, we wish you good health and hope to see you all at our conference next year.
